JYJ 'The Beginning' Showcase Tour 2010 in Malaysia

Have been a while since the last blog update but seriously, I really have to update it this time. Some stuffs I would like to share but the best always come last so be patient :) Anyway, just a short update on the places I've been during my semester break. Alright, now to the main point of this post. I went for JYJ's (Xiah Junsu, Micky Yuchun, Hero Jaejung) "The Beginning" Showcase at Stadium Negara on the 17th of October 2010! First and foremost, I was never a JYJ nor TVXQ fan before this and I knew nothing bout them. All I knew was TVXQ, a Korean boy band got broken up and three of them formed another group known as JYJ.

Okay, this might sound gay but I paid RM250++ for the ticket and I enjoyed the showcase a lot! The showcase was SUPER DUPER AWESOME! Though the showcase was a little short but it was totally worth it. These 3 are so talented that they sounded exactly like the mp3's you get to download online!

In case if you're wondering, JYJ are currently on a world tour to promote their first album called "The Beginning" and they collaborated with Kanye West to produce this particular album:

The showcase tickets were sold off within 30 minutes. Crazy! Stadium Negara was packed with 6,000++ JYJ fans. Though they were not that complete without the other 2 members (U-Know Yunho and Max Changmin), JYJ were awesome as a 3 member group. We were lucky that we were able to get three seats for the showcase with Serena C as the emcee. Did not take any photos as DSLRs were not allowed into the stadium that day. P/S: I can't help but to notice that these boys are always in a fixed arrangement when they're seated, most of the time when they're performing and also in album covers! Try noticing this or you could even look at the photos above once again. Hero will always be in the middle while Micky will be on his left and Xiah will always be on his right. Interesting!

They were a bit shy when they were here in Malaysia. It was sad that Micky was the only one who did all the talking as he was English educated but let's wait for next summer to see them here again in Malaysia!

By the way, the company (CJes) released 99,999 copies of JYJ's "The Beginning" Luxury Edition albums but there were already approximately 500,000 pre-orders for that particular album. The album was priced at RM150.00 inclusive of a JYJ tee and poster while the Normal Edition which also has 200,000 pre-orders was sold at RM50.00 each with a free poster at each purchase. However, we were extremely lucky to get one of each album:

Surprisingly, I've became a JYJ fan now and sadly, I am only starting to appreciate TVXQ's songs after they "broken up". Anyway, let's hope that they will get back together after all these drama and stuffs. Like all the Cassies say, "Always keep the faith!". Good night and take care!

FEStival: The Photoshoot

Alright, my blog is officially dead for the past few months *sighs*. The past few weeks was really busy for me. Anyway, just a quick update. UTAR had their annual FEStival the past two weeks and it was cool. In fact, it was way cooler than the previous one :P

Basically, I suggested that my club has an additional booth for free photoshoot besides the existing games booth and the results turned out quite cool. I was hoping more people to come though but all thanks to my friends and buddies for all their support. Just a few handpicked shots and they're also my favourite shots to share:

CGBC Easter Musical Celebration 2010

Hiya people! My blog looks really dead right? Blame tests, assignments and meetings! Anyway, it was Easter few weeks back and that was another chance to improve my event photography skills. Awesome two days of Easter celebration at CBGC Ipoh!

Our spontaneous trip to UTAR Kampar

Just a short update after the previous post. I guess I'll start with Tuesday when both Zact and Daniel got themselves two Canon cameras. It was so sudden but it is awesome, now we have 3 Canon users and hopefully another one this week *crosses fingers*. It's kinda cool to see so many people into photography but I guess we gotta pray for not letting photography to take control over us. We still have our degree studies to settle with.Was sick for the past week, was having flu and thanks for those who prayed for me. Appreciate you guys! Am feeling much better after drink lots and lots of water. Was on the train back to Ipoh on Thursday with Daniel and Zact. We kind of had this idea of having a "photoshoot" in Kampar, it was not really a photoshoot la cause takde model and all but it was fun, although we dropped by for like 2 hours.

I was still kind of sick that time, was not really in the mood for photography due to the hot weather and all but I managed to get a few shots. Most of them are random shots la so please bare with me okay? Still in the progress of learning :)

Basically we were in a tutorial class, just for a few minutes and we felt so old =S

We kind of got attracted to the Western food stall. We ordered three plates of Brown Chicken Chop Rice. We were curious with the word "brown" so we ordered three plates since they looked delicious.

Nah, it did not taste that good. When we left UTAR Kampar for our degree in Setapak, we only had 6 blocks - A to F and Block F was not even ready by that time. Now they have like Block I?! UTAR Kampar is like so developed and it seems that their tutorial rooms are sound proof? AWESOME!

What happened in February and March

Woot! It has been a while since my last update. Sorry peeps, was really busy these few weeks with tests, assignments and lab reports. Yeah yeah, Aaron is always busy with stuffs right? So a little recap on what I did on February and March.

First and foremost, I am actually trying to expand my Photoshop skills. Yeah, I do have limited time after tests, assignments and lab reports but photography and photo editing is too "addictive"! By the way, I currently have this in mind for my next Photoshop project. Basically I planned to combine my "multiple personality" project with a new "hologram project". LOL, sounds abit complicated uh? Hopefully, I could get it done after my university stuffs aight?

Basically, I've changed my display picture earlier this month. I changed from this:

What is so special about my new profile picture? The truth is, I kind of have this phobia of clowns. Yeah, as in those you see in the circus or like the one in my profile picture. Basically, we met this Mr. Clown when we were at Ikano. It was some sort of an unplanned trip and many problems came up after that. Most importantly, the problems are all solved right? All smiles!

Alright, when it comes to Ikano's Food Court. You guys gotta try the food there *slurs*, especially their Swedish meatballs! Although I got screwed for taking a few shots there, here are a few of those shots for you. Time to get hungry guys :)

So, we ate, we did some shopping and we were on our way back. Remember Mr. Clown that I mentioned earlier? It was in the bus when we first met him. We chatted all the way to the LRT station and of course to Masjid Jamek where he went down the LRT. Funny guy, *duh* he's a clown.

That is where I got my profile picture from. By the way, a few photos were underexposed on purpose. Was trying out some editing with Photoscape.

Next event was Friends' Night which was organised by City Harvest Church. An awesome event with special performances by Shawn Lee and An Honest Mistake. Was invited by my CF kakis and I went. The theme was Bridging Colours and that is the reason why all of us were in orange that night.

It was CF's Movie Day last week and we had a preview of a movie entitled "End of the Spear" by Jim Hanon. The movie was about missionaries who were trying to reach out to the "Waodani". The movie was awesome and together with a few packets of Cheezels and Soya Bean, my house was compatible with TGV or GSC :)

And I wonder if you guys noticed that most of the people are into K-Pop and it's like a Korean Hits "tsunami" that hit Malaysia or something. I don't know about you but my friends are like talking bout Korean chicks and hunks here, there and everywhere. Well, that does not mean it excludes me, I do listen to Korean songs but in a wide range. A few songs here and there just to keep me awake during lecture breaks and stuffs. So if you heard band names like Girls' Generation, After School, Super Junior, Kara, 2pm, Big Bang and many others, BEWARE, you are getting poisoned!

Well, since we are in the discussion of K-Pop, Girls Generation will be releasing their repackaged second album - Run Devil Run and that's Yoona on the album cover :)

And recently, I have changed my profile picture yet again. It's a photo of me holding a board with the word "LOVE" on it. It was some sort of Zact and my Valentine's project. Will be uploading the full set of photos real soon.

Pavilion: Fame

Finally another blog update. I actually promised her for an update on both visits to Bangsar and Pavilion. This post will be on Pavilion because the Bangsar photos are still with her. Few weeks back, we actually went to Pavilion to watch 'Fame'. Yeap, awesome movie! i rate it 9/10.

Was supposed to watch the 11.20am show but we got delayed so we went for the next one at 4.00pm. Lepak-ed around with our cameras for a few hours and the CNY deco in Pavilion is awesome!

That was it about our Pavilion trip and are there any problems? Yeah! It's like I kept on breaking promises. Well, I do not take it as I break promises but one thing is that I forget stuffs easily! Short term memory sucks badly :( Another thing is I think too much at times that I will forget stuffs that I should remember. And plans keep changing at times, when plans change, I'll end up breaking promises.

I know I know, anyhow it is still my fault right? And I'm so sorry. So sorry if I've broken any promises, guys. And I am gonna pray about this, I gotta improve in all these.

Canon EOS FACEbulous Photography Contest

Hey peeps! I was on Facebook yesterday, in fact I am always on Facebook. Anyway, I found out that Canon Malaysia organized a photography contest. It's called the EOS FACEbulous Photography Contest.

Details of the contest are shown below:

As you can see, the first top-rated photo from each theme or category will get a Crumpler bag for free! How cool is that?! And out of 20 categories, the first highest rated photo will get a Digital Ixus 100 IS!

Each contestant is entitled to one photo submission only and let me put it this way, I've uploaded the wrong photo. Basically I chose the wrong photo out of more better looking photos. So, I got a little help from Sue Quin and Xi Kae.

Out of 20 categories, I have submitted three photos in two different categories. First one is under my name, under the theme "Expressions". Basically, I've chosen this photo because I love the expressions on their faces but as I've said, wrong photo! The photo is kinda underexposed as it did not undergo any PP.

Next, I have another shot uploaded under Xi Kae's name, particularly because she was the model in the photo. It was also submitted under the theme "Expressions". Alright, this photo stands a higher chance of winning. It has the highest votes under its category currently.

I have the third photo uploaded under Sue Quin's name under the theme "Colours". It's a bokeh photo taken in Moven Peak few weeks back. This photo has the highest votes under its category and it is the second highest voted photo among 20 categories!

Basically, I need your help voting due to the appearance of more contestants. You guys could vote for both Xi Kae's and Sue Quin's photo. The one under my name can be ignored because it's under the same category as Xi Kae's. I really need your help in getting the highest number of votes. So keep your votes coming, people!

Welcoming Freshmen Concert 2010!

Alright peeps, this is going to be a long post. Am still wondering if I should divide this post to two separate posts. Hmmm. Anyway, remember what I said on my previous post? Welcoming Freshmen Concert 2010 was AWESOME!

Was in campus way before noon, the event was at 12pm by the way. Since I was there early, I managed to get a few shots with my "baby":

Zact was with this dance crew called the Hazardous Engineers. They were cool, wait till you see them perform!

Had lunch after that and it was time for the opening ceremony.

Oh before I forget, let me introduce you to Boo, my new friend. Awesome guy with a 450d and he was our emcee.

First it was the dance performance by the Hazardous Engineers. Love the part where they danced "Sorry, sorry" by Super Junior and "Sexy Bitch" by David Guetta feat. Akon. Together with the lighting and sound effects, WOW!

Next, there was a singing performance by this guy and he sings really well! Really well as in he sounded exactly like the original singer. Here he is, singing "Sing Along Song by 方大同". And yeah, I can't write or speak in Mandarin. I just got the title and the artist's name from some friend of mine.

Headed to the back of the lecture hall because I felt like screaming and supporting for the next performance. Managed to get a shot of my "kakis". Thanks for the support, guys!

Next, there was a pianist and this guy is really good. I told John that I couldn't play a single musical instrument but this pianist played at top speed and he managed to get all the codes right. Imagine playing O2 Jam at the highest level and speed. LOL! Look, even our emcee was shocked! Haha.

Remember I mentioned that I was at the back of the hall to support the next performance? Yeah, I knew this new friend during the event itself. His name is Jordi and we're in the same English lecture now. Awesome guy and he's super funny!

He was a comedian during the concert and I remember shouting "Awesome!" when he said he couldn't sit down because he had a pimple on his arse. LOL!

After Jordi was a Chinese orchestra performance. The emcee was talking bout a musical instrument called a "wooden fish".

The guy with the flute had another solo performance after the Chinese orchestra.

There was a magic show by a professional magician by the name of Eugene and he was cool as well. Sorry that there are no photos for that particular show because my flashgun ran out of battery.

Next was a singing performance by another UTARian. He is a broadcasting student from PJ by the name of Kelvin if I'm not mistaken. This guy can really sing and he sang "Poker Face" by Lady Gaga and "Bleeding Love" by Leona Lewis.

Alright, then it was a performance by one of our very own WFC committee member. Wei Han together with two of his juniors are professionals! Check this out:

Then there was another dance performance. No, not the Hazardous Engineers but they're from another crew. Anyway, we call them "Alvin and the Chipmunks". Why? You'll see why...

This guy here calls himself Theodore. You know that cute fat little chipmunk that you see in cinemas? This Theodore here can POP!

Those above were all the performances during event together with a few more. That's about it. Then there was a lucky draw and this winner is about to gain a few calories.

Ice Breaking 2010

Hi folks! Finally got the time to update my blog on the Ice Breaking 2010 for freshmen. Before that, yesterday was the first day of the semester and it was awesome! Keep Soil Mechanics aside, my English lecturer rocks! Students call him the "living GPS" because he seems to know every single place in Malaysia. He is a really funny guy, can't wait to attend his next lecture!

So, Ice Breaking 2010 was cool. I really enjoyed the water games although I am not part of them. Really love all the water splashing action! So let's begin shall we?

Alright, there were quite a number of freshmen but I only managed to get a photo with just a few guys in it.

The warm up game was called "Chicken Goggles" if I am not mistaken, awesome game.

Then it was station games and here's the big boss, Kerry. He looks like he's saying "Me..." in the photo. Yeah Kerry, you're the boss!

Alright, time for water games! AWESOME! There was this game where you were supposed to play "rock, paper and scissors" and if you lose, you get splashed. Simple isn't it?

First week of January

Wow, busy week! Drove down to Sitiawan on Monday morning and spent a few hours there. You guys gotta try Sitiawan's laksa and prawn mee. Yummy!

Reached Ipoh by dinner time and Ipoh Parade was destination number one. Basically, we planned to walk around before having dinner. Photos taken in Ipoh Parade:

'Yum Cha Session' was at Friends Cafe with a guy named Ben. Didn't know he was Mun Sun's brother until he told me he's doing robotics in MMU. Sounds cool eh? Photos taken at Friends Cafe:

We continued my "food photography marathon" once again on Tuesday. Kinda unlucky that Foh San Dim Sum Restaurant was closed on that day. In fact, most of the places were closed on Tuesday which include Funny Mountain 'tau fu fa' and Medan Selera Stadium's 'ais kacang'!

Headed to Jusco in the evening to watch 'Alvin and the chipmunks - The Squekquel'. The movie was okay with the additional "Chipettes" and their adorable voices. Rate it 8/10. Love the part where they sang "Right Round" and "Single Ladies".

Met up with Sue Quin after the movie and we had dinner together at Sri Maju for their famous 'hakka mee':

Met up with one of my mom's friend at Moven Peak after that. This is where the bokeh photos come alive! This was also the place where Sue Quin had her first photography lessons. LOL! Proceeded to Station One after that for another 'yum cha session'. Photos taken at Moven Peak and Station One:

Met up with Anna's friend, Adrian for breakfast on Wednesday. Also met up with Kay Yen and Jiangmay for another 'yum cha session'. Had dinner together at Moven Peak again and remember that I mentioned that here's the place where bokeh comes to live?

Drove down to Kampar on Thursday together with Aunty Cathy and Carmen. UTAR is like AWESOME! Can't imagine that UTAR 'grew' so much since we left last year. Anyway, it has been an hour or so since I started updating this post. Think I gotta rest soon so take care, peeps! God Bless!

12.47am and I just got home. Went out for another 'yum cha' session with Jiangmay, Kay Yen and Puinyinn. Anyway, Happy New Year people!

What happened yesterday was I planned to have this 'Ipoh food photography marathon' together with Jiangmay and Kay Yen but later on it was just me and my mom. Am a little bit interested in food photography thou and yesterday was my first attempt!

Was a little bored after I updated my blog earlier so I browsed through the World Wide Web and ended up at Smashpop.net and Rames Studios. I respect these two guys kao kao man, they're like super good in photography and photo editing and I used to visit their blogs really often.

And that is also how I get to learn new photography and photo editing techniques. I really enjoy looking at Rames's photoshop skills, they're AWESOME! I wonder what will I do if I see him around KL. So anyway, was looking at Rames's PhotoshopWorld and I saw one of his work.

I was planning to change my profile picture earlier but I couldn't think of one. So I planned to "produce" a twin just like Rames did but I had trouble installing my Photoshop so I had to use Photoscape and Paint.NET instead.

Basically, I made one "different personalities" photo for Daniel earlier this month:

What happened was my mom together with both my aunts came down to KL for two days and we went to Pavilion again. Oh my, the trouble getting there!

It's December which means Christmas decorations are all around town and the ones in Pavilion are super cool and awesome. Basically, my friends and I went to Pavilion twice last week, once for dinner with Anna's course mates and another visit there to watch New Moon.

We had lunch at Pepper Lunch and there were three DSLRs that night. Awesomeness! And I had the chance to try my new 50mm f/1.8 lens. Photos taken in Pavilion:

PC Fair was held for three days at KL Convention Centre and basically, I had my first working experience there. My friends and I went for a job interview 2 weeks back at Lowyat Plaza and we worked for P&M Computer System for the three days during PC Fair. The best parts are meeting new friends and gaining experiences, the worst part would be the customers.

My colleagues were all super cool just that the boss was a little grumpy at times but it was really a great experience.

It's the 8th of December, people! Which means, it has already been a year since we got together. Time flies! Well, there might be a few arguments now and then but things would be back to normal or even better after that!

I've said I would change in certain aspects and yet I do break promises now and then. I'll change for the better I hope and I'll continue praying that I will! Many things that I've told you and promised you, I'll keep those promises. A year in a relationship is not a simple task I guess. Anyway, Happy Anniversary!

Hey peeps, sorry for not updating these few days because I'm super super busy! Assignments, quizzes and tests. Argh! Anyway, this would not be a long post anyway.

Celebrated both Pooi Siang and Anna's birthday. Don't think I will be uploading the photos here right now because the line is a lil bit bad. Anyway, you can view the photos on my Facebook profile.

After Anna's, it was mine! Yeah! It was my 19th birthday on the 27th of November. Well, thanks for all the birthday wishes aite? And of course, the birthday celebration. Thanks once again.

Drove down to Penang yesterday to attend Camera Planet 2009 in Gurney Plaza. Well, it was a little bit disappointing. The fair was much smaller than what I've expected and aren't the prices supposed to be cheaper during the fair? Well, I'm not sure about the camera bodies they are selling but they're selling Canon Speedlite 430 EXII for RM2,200! I was really confused as the price stated on the Internet is RM1,700 only.

Basically, my intention was to get myself a flashgun if I could afford it but RM2,200 is a no no. Oh well, headed to the 3rd floor and checked. This shop is selling the 580 EXII for only RM2,060. Now I am really really confused!

Did not get a flashgun in the end but besides the Canon Speedlite, I was actually saving for another lens. I guess it is the cheapest, smallest and light-weight 50mm portrait lens. The lens was sold out during the fair so I managed to get the EF 50mm/1.8 for a much lower price together with a few camera accessories.

Nicolas and Esther's wedding

The 100th post! Just got back from Penang earlier today. Was in Penang for the past two days for another cousin's wedding. Yeap, Nicolas and Esther got married and the wedding ceremony was held at the exact same place as Eric's. Evergreen Laurel Hotel, Penang it is but this time my family and I spent a night in this inn which was just next to Evergreen Laurel.

Went to the hotel at 2pm for the tea ceremony and at 7pm for the dinner. There was this guy with his "super cekap" Canon EOS DSLR fully equipped with external flash, lens and stuffs. Awesome! I hesitated to take out my 500d but still, I manage to get a few shots. Basically, the white balance is not good in my opinion. Still got lots to learn, the lighting was a little bit harsh to me when I used the built-in flash, so I did not really make use of it.

The car was overloaded with 8 people and God was one of them!

Good evening, people! Today's post is reserved for Him. Awesome! Before I start of with anything, let me tell you something. If you're one of those who think that God could not do anything about your life and you are the only one who could, then think again!

What I would like to share today is more like a testimony and for those who does not know what "testimony" is, this is what I got from wikipedia:

In law and in religion, testimony is a solemn attestation as to the truth of a matter.

So what I want to share is that I had my exams yesterday and you might be asking "So what?". The main point is, I managed to get through the exams because He was with me. No doubt about that! I would have did mistakes that I used to do before. I know I might not get an "A" or a very good result but at least I do know that I would have done much worse! What I learnt? "Life is fragile, handle with prayer" - this is absolutely true.

Prayer is really IMPORTANT! I might not understand how powerful or important prayer can be but everything changed yesterday. Just one day and it proved how true God can be! I prayed for my revision and exams, everything turned out fine. What more?

To simplify the whole story, my house mates and I planned to go to this "pasar malam" at Sri Rampai and there were 7 of us so I had to drive two rounds before I could possibly get the whole group to Sri Rampai. I went for badminton before that and I did not get enough rest I suppose, sorry if my driving skills were bad last night. So it was the second round and out of a sudden, i realized I have not prayed before starting our journey. The radio was turned up loud so I lowered down the volume before started praying.

There was this car right behind me and it was at the "blind-spot" if you get what I mean. I did not even realized it was there. When I looked at the rear and side mirrors, it seemed like there weren't any cars behind and all of a sudden this car flew pass me. It was like one foot away from hitting our car and guess what? The driver did not even bother to honk. And all these happened just approximately 10 seconds after my prayer. Praise God!

What happened next was all of us had to fit into the car. Yeah, all seven of us! Yeah, I kind of broke the law right? Alright, I broke the law. There can only be 5 people in a car. So we were on our way back to PV10 and to PV6. What happened next was we were stuck in traffic and as usual we would think "Why la? Accident again?". Guess what, it was a road block! *speechless* What I could think of back then was "Gone, this time sure kena" so I got my license and IC ready.

The poor Viva was overloaded with 7 people and what makes you think I won't kena? Drove up to the policemen. Yeah "policeMEN", which means there were more than one policeman. They checked the car, the road tax and more. They even hesitated to let us go but thank God! Somehow or rather, their eyes were like blinded as they did not realize the car was overloaded with 7 people!

Okay, I might have sounded like God helped us in crime but that day's situation was kinda complicated. I could not make two trips again because it was late and stuffs. But at least we knew we were wrong and I'm sure we won't be having 7 people in a car ever again, hopefully.

Then I started thinking and counting my "kesalahan":

1. Car overloaded with 7 people

2. I was driving a car without the "P" sticker

3. The 5 people at the back seat do not have the seat belts buckled up

Praise God! On my way back I actually realized He was with us all the while. In fact, He is always with us! I started thinking "What if He was not with us?", there were many "what if's" in my head and God actually told me something. I knew that we DO NOT have to worry about the "what if's" if we have FAITH that He is ALWAYS with us! Why would I have to worry about anything if I know that God is always with me, guiding and protecting me?

It was only one day. Only ONE DAY to prove how TRUE God is!

Canon Eos 500d

Hey peeps! Back for another update. Last week was a "coincidence" week. Most of my friends would know that I was saving for my very first DSLR. Reviews after reviews, I planned to get myself the new Sony Alpha230 few months back, then it was Sony Alpha 330 for its Live View but there were so many complaints on the Alpha cameras. So, I planned to save a little more and get myself the Canon EOS 450d *full stop*. Canon EOS 500d it is!

Went back to Ipoh last week and normally I would just SLEEP in Ipoh. But on Saturday morning, I woke up earlier than usual and accompanied mom to get some car vinyls from this Christian shop in Ipoh Garden East. Coincidently, mom asked if I could drive her to the post office in TESCO to get the bills paid. Fine, since it was kinda near from where I was. Drove to TESCO and coincidently I followed my mom down the car. Usually I would just sit in the car and wait but this time things seemed to be a little bit different. Went down, paid the bills and get myself two boxes of Lipton Milk Tea *currently my favourite!*.

Settled everything and planned to drive back but coincidently, I saw this camera shop located at the ground floor *happy*. So, I just walked in and asked whether they have the Canon EOS 450d and what's the price for it. Coincidently, tak da stok!

Salesguy : 450d sold off lah!

Me : Huh? Really meh? When got stock?

Salesguy : Not so sure wor

Me : Then can I have a look at this Sony Alpha 330

Salesguy: Aiya boss, instead of getting 450d, why don't you spend RM100 extra to get the 500d?

OMG! Coincidently that shop was having promotion for three days and that day was the second day. The Canon EOS 500d was cheaper by RM500.00! Awesome! 500d was never in my review list but I just tried that camera out since they provide free testing.

In conclusion, got myself the Canon EOS 500d with some financial support from dad. Thanks dad! My new "love", the Canon EOS 500d!

Tried the camera out these few days and it was truly truly awesome! No complaints at all. Brought the camera to Xin's birthday celebration the next day:

Long time since the previous update. Campus' life is getting a little boring these days. With only two subjects, there's nothing much for us to do besides SLEEP! However, these two subjects aint that simple. Gotta revise now and then, got to make sure I understand Structural Analysis well.

So, DoTA is not in my timetable these few days, or should I say these few weeks. Had some better and healthier activities to replace the "non-beneficial" ones. Haha! We do go for badminton and football at least once a week. Got to know some new friends and stuffs. Awesome!

And I've been doing camera reviews everyday! Sounds lifeless right, and I've been trying to edit photos using the new Photoshop CS4 that I've installed few weeks back. Basically, I've spent most of my time doing all these till I feel a little guilty. Then, I'll try to do some revision again. Haha! Read this tutorial from Rames's blog on Decorative Typography and I actually came out with one earlier. Spent like an hour doing this thingy.

Well, I'm still a newbie in Photoshop so it does look a little simple. For a larger view:

MUET Speaking Test

Hey there, peeps! Am back for yet another update but there would not be any photos in this post because the Internet connection here in KL is super "fast"! What happened yesterday was, it was my first day of my second semester. I remembered registering for MUET when I was in my foundation year and guess what? I had my Speaking Test yesterday!

It was like the first day of the semester and we had an exam already. We couldn't stop thinking about MUET the day before. My friends and I were like so worried but yet, what and how can we even prepare for the test? It's a Speaking Test for crying out loud! So I set the alarm and placed my Nokia 5800 right next to my pillow. I know, it's bad for health. The radiation and stuffs but I really had to make sure the alarm will wake me up or else I will be taking MUET with my mom.

So, I heard Pitbull's Hotel Room Service ringtone and I woke up right away. Usually I would just snooze the alarm and lie back down on my mattress but no way! Couldn't take any chances. Went to the bathroom, came back to my room to get changed. And guess what? I was super blur when I got up that I took my message tone as my alarm tone! And I was up early! Right on the screen of the Nokia 5800 Xpress Music...

It was from Daniel and we're in the same house. He could've just came down and knocked on my door. LOL! The message was like super long! The message:

Going?

That basically meant, going to campus? Seng Hoe and Daniel hesitated to go to campus because it was he first day of the semester and usually on the first week of the semester, the lecturer would be the one skipping class OR he/she would come in and give you a little introduction on where he got his PhD from, this and that.

Great! The first class was cancelled and man, I got screwed! Ended up having lunch with Seng Hoe at the cafeteria. Talked and talked and talked and it as already 10.30! What came into my mine was "We'll be having MUET today right?" and we do not even know where's the venue.

Headed to the SB Block and we saw Yan Ming. Daniel was in somewhere on Earth with his friends. We realised there were two rooms, the 'Exam Room' and the 'Quarantine Room'. What you should do is, get into the toilet, excrete every single thing you need to excrete, get into the 'Quarantine Room' till it's your turn.

It was Speaking Test so there would be 4 person in a group. Surprisingly, Daniel, Seng Hoe, Yan Ming and I were in the same group. Cool uh? There's this friend of ours called Johnson, he was in the first group and we were in the last. He went in and everyone were like stressed up! Especially when you're in the last group. Who cares if it's the 'Quarantine Room', it's not prison anyway. What we did was we realised the questions would be the same for all four groups. Then, technology came into place. Seng Hoe texted Johnson and we knew the question.

Now what? We were even more stressed up! We weren't supposed to get out of the room but we did. We need to go to the loo! DESPERATELY! There was this lecturer who was "babysitting" us and she kept asking us "Scared ar?", "Worried ar?". We were doing stuffs that are not normal at all. Ever seen Aaron wrapping a Man United scarf around his head while walking around a PRISON?

What we did to relieve stress was we talked about Russel Peters and Kumar Drag Queen. Laughed so hard that we nearly forget that it's our turn next. Kantoi! We were like super stressed up but thank God everything went well. Except for the part where Seng Hoe had a tummy ache during the test.

The process was not that bad after all but everyone would be stressed up before the process itself I'm sure. Anyway, worried bout the test and now it's done. Good luck to those taking the MUET test tomorrow aite? Take care and God Bless!

Sony Alpha 230 or 330?

Okay, have not been doing anything special these few days. Before I forget, I've got myself the new FIFA 10, installed it but have not been playing it these few days. It's cool, the gameplay and the graphics are still acceptable I suppose. Well, not a pro in computer gaming :P

Anyway, went out with Daniel and Weng Foo this afternoon for a game of badminton. There aren't any 'cekap' activities here in Ipoh. BORING! Hope the new semester starts fast! Haha, since it's a short semester, I don't mind. Oh well, went out for dinner with mummy and then to Jusco and Kopitiam.

Am back home now. GG anyone? :) Ohya, I'm still with the TVB series till now! OMG, been watching it since I was in KL few weeks back and it's only a 30 episode series. Guess we'll have some plans tomorrow guys.

In case if you guys don't know, Aaron will be getting a DSLR camera hopefully by the end of this month. I've been craving for a DSLR since I don't know when. However, I will only look at two cameras for now which are the Sony Alpha 230 and he Sony Alpha 330. Ignore the Sony Alpha 380, can't afford that one.

Well, I guess I would not take photography so seriously for now. For beginners and also because of the budget, I guess it's sufficient for me to look at these two models. Aaron is in dilemma, which one to choose? Any ideas?

I actually tried out the Sony Alpha 230 few days back and it was awesome. Well, I mean it's okay for beginners like me. Basically, both models have the same features which includes:

Well, I've managed to check the price of the Sony Alpha 230 and it ranges from RM1750 - RM1799. However, I only know the Sony Alpha 330 costs roughly around RM2100++? Not so sure bout the price.

So, which one to choose? Any recommendations? I might spend a little more to get the Sony Alpha 330 for the extra two features and I would not be changing a new DSLR anytime soon after I get one for myself.

Yum Cha Session and Mooncake Festival Celebration

Finally had the chance to hang out with my 'kakis' and finally had the chance to meet up with Jiangmay, Kay Yen and Xiao Tung after so long! Met up at Old Town Kopitiam and someone brought along her Sony Alpha 230, AWESOME! My friends would know I'm craving for a Sony DSLR! Oh well, my as well play around with Kay Yen's for now.

Thanks Kay Yen, for letting me play with your gadget. As usual la, Aaron will start snapping snapping and SNAPPING! Oh well, lots more to learn about photography right, Kay Yen? Am referring to myself though.

Went to Parade to get Adrian's birthday present. Went to his place with Seng Hoe, Jia Huei, Daniel and Weng Foo. Awesome party too! Lots and lots of food! Headed to Xiao Tung's place after that for the mooncake festival celebration. Jiangmay was busy taking care of her candles that she hits me every single time they got blew off. Teruk la!

Haha. And by the way, my Nokia 5800 Xpress Music's camera did not have the chance to show off man! LOL!

Sunway Pyramid and Ampang Look-out Point

Hey there peeps! Finally had the time to "revive" my blog. I actually got this temporary blog skin from blogskins.com. I had to change my previous skin because all the images kinda disappeared. However, I kind of abandoned my blog due to never-ending assignments, tests and presentations.

Recently, I actually went to Sunway Pyramid with my housemates. That's like super far from my area.

It was one memorable day! Awesome! Am loving Park Ji Sung so much! <3

Next stop, Ampang Look-out Point. Went there for dinner with Daniel, Jia Huei, Chun Fye, Yan Ming and Xi Kae. Another awesome place! However, photos are taken using my Nokia 5800 and edited using Photoscape v3.4, so the photo qualities aren't really satisfying.

We went to this place called Gasoline for their western food.

Had our dinner and the posers were all so active. Camwhored all the way!

We should consider coming again next time to try the other restaurants and cafe.

Btw, lost a few photos due to some problem with my memory card. Will try to get more photos from Daniel by the next update. And one last thing, I actually spent an hour plus editing Daniel's photos. He had some sort of a "photoshoot" when we were at Look-out Point. Enjoy!

We were at Times Square on Wednesday. Why? To meet Optimus Prime of course! Special thanks to Ps. Jason for planning everything and there were actually 37 of us who went for the movie. I would like to thank Daniel too for fetching us to Times Square and back to PV6. We were like totally shocked when Daniel told us that the cinema screen is 5 storeys high! Can you imagine? The screen is like super HUGE! You do not even know when and where to look! But overall, it was okay although Chris mentioned that the sound system was not good enough.

It's worth it! 7 bucks for Transformers is really reasonable cause the movie was super cekap! Everyone were like mentioning Megan Fox here, Megan Fox there and they were like super sad when they knew she is actually a he. Anyway, some photos to be posted up here. UTAR or KTAR?

I'm back for another update. Currently waiting to meet up with Edward because he got me Adobe Photoshop CS4! Thanks Ed! Been craving for adobe photoshop all these while but I could not afford one. Till I get to KL, Ed told me that I can get anything from KL's night market and I asked him if he could get one for me and all I need to do now is to meet up with him and get it from him!

Yeah I know, it's not easy to use adobe photoshop but I wanna learn how to use it! Excited man. Ohya, talking bout photo-editing and stuffs. I am still wondering whether I am at the right university and whether I am taking the right course or not. Why? Because I've been praying and hoping that I am on the right track. Somehow I feel that my interest is still into Multimedia and Graphics Design. Another thing is that I DO NOT understand anything about Fluid Mechanics even till now and it's already Week 5! Well, at least I know I'm not the only one. Many of my friends have been skipping classes because it does not make any difference even if you attend lectures.

And I've been telling my friends that since the lecturers aren't helping and if I screw this semester up and if I know that Civil Engineering is not the course for me, I would probably be starting a new semester in TARCollege doing Graphics Design. There's this guy in my cell who actually took Mechanical Engineering in his first year but he actually realised that ME wasn't the right course for him so he started taking Graphics Design the next year. So, will it be UTAR or KTAR next year?

Well, to be honest. UTAR Setapak is kinda disappointing thou. How can you attend 5 weeks of lectures and tutorials and not UNDERSTANDING A SINGLE THING? We are not sure whether we could pass the examination even if there's an open book test.

We went to Wangsa for dinner earlier. Yeah, H1N1 cases everywhere and it seems that there's already one case in PV6. Just wanna share some pics I took during dinner:

Attended church service yesterday and it's super 'cekap'. And I actually fell in love with the two songs during worship. My housemates would know as I've been playing those songs over and over again. I would like to recommend one of these songs to you guys, it's called All for Love by Hillsongs United. I was touched by that song actually, super 'cekap' song!

I'm an uncle!

Hey peeps, I actually planned to STOP blogging thou. Why? Because I do not have any inspiration or even photographs to update my blog. So it's gonna be a month here in Setapak already but before that, I'M AN UNCLE! Lol, that sounds super old! Yeah, my cousin actually gave birth to a baby girl and that makes me an uncle.

After the visit, I took the 1pm train back to KL and it was a Tuesday. I actually planned to get my PTPTN Loan stuffs settled on Monday but thank God it was done by Saturday! All I have to do now is to get a few of my documents certified and I'm done!

It's week 4 already and yea, met some new friends in campus and also in church! And I do have some difficulties understanding what has been taught in lecture. But I do enjoy church cell meetings! At least I know He'll always be there for me.

Owh man, Superposition. Don't understand a thing man. Help!

UTAR Setapak, do I have a choice?

Hey peeps, back for another update and this time it's gonna be on UTAR Setapak. For those who really want to know how is it here in UTAR Setapak, this update is for you! First and foremost, for those who are doing their foundation or degree in UTAR Kampar and you're complaining, let me tell you that you're pretty dumb in a way. Appreciate every single thing you have in UTAR Kampar because it is a place where you can find the best facilities! If you do not believe me, come to UTAR Setapak for a week and you'll see. We found out that the best facility here in UTAR Setapak is the bus! Why? Cause it's the best thingy you can find here, you'll see why. Ohya, the taxi drivers here in Setapak is freaking arrogant man! Well, not all but just a few of them. There's this Chinaman who drives this taxi, forgotten what is his car's registration number, I guess it's HWC 842. We entered his car and he did not ask us where we wanted to go, we were actually heading to UTAR but when we told him that, it was actually too late cause he already turned into the junction which lead to KTAR. Okay, I admit it was our fault. Come on, we were new kay? You know what he told us? He said "People like you all, study so hard also useless!". We were like WTF?! Felt like smashing his head man.

So, this is actually my second week here in Setapak but I will begin with the first week alright? So what happened during the first week? Orientation was on and we were shocked to see the UTAR campus here in Setapak. UTAR Setapak is providing tertiary education but they could not afford a proper sign board? One of my friends told me to took a few photos of the sign board and to post it here. Someone actually posted on his blog saying that the painting of the UTAR logo at the main entrance in Kampar sucks, have a look at this before saying anything la brotha!

Not only that, we actually found out that they could not afford curtains as well. And you could see how ugly it looks from the outside.

It's not even 50% of UTAR Kampar; the size and the standard! Coming to think about it, we did not really appreciate UTAR Kampar when we were there last year. We complained about lots of stuffs-the air-conditioning system, the cafeteria and lots more but when we are here in UTAR Setapak, we trully appreciate everything found in UTAR Kampar. If you are still not convinced that UTAR Kampar is still the best, look what I saw when I was in the lecture hall on the first day.

Ohya, talking bout lectures, we actually met this lecturer who said "I know this subject is boring. If you want to sleep, just make yourself at home cause that's what I did when I was in Uni". Cool right? We are so gonna fail that subject!

First and foremost, UTAR Setapak has a few halls called 'DK' which refers 'Dewan Kuliah' in short. The DKs in Kampar are way better compared to those here and I mean way way BETTER! What more if they do not make use of the air conditioning system here in UTAR Setapak. Seriously, the hall was super hot like a microwave! You would actually see people fanning themselves with almost anything! People are like saying "We pay 6k for free sauna treatment?" and we actually found out that the coolest place here in UTAR Setapak is the library.

The enviroment here in Setapak is kinda weird too thou, you'll have to climb the stairs to get to class every morning and it's super tiring! The buildings here are way worse compared to those in Kampar.

The canteen is okay, at least students can eat in this air-conditioned room but the stalls there kinda look like those stalls you can find in those R&R next to the highway.

They even have some decoration next to the canteen, have a look.

My friends weren't really satisfied these two weeks, everything seems to be so different compared to those times we had in UTAR Kampar. We missed everything about UTAR Kampar! My friends and I were worried if we chose the right course and we really hope that those engineering courses here in UTAR Setapak will shift back to UTAR Kampar as soon as possible!

I know I actually do not have the rights to comment on UTAR Setapak but it's just my point of view, my first and second week here is not that satisfying. This is my blog and I just want to share my experiences here in UTAR Setapak, I'm sorry if I offended those UTARians who really support UTAR Setapak. But, I'll post some pics about what some UTARians think bout UTAR Setapak. Look what I found on MSN and for those who are in UTAR Kampar, appreciate everything you have there. Even those tutorial rooms you're going into everyday and you'll complain that the air-conditioning system sucks, those are way better than those we have here.

Expenses in KL is way higher than I expected which means, I'll have to cook my dinner as often as possible to save money. Haha, and not to mention, the construction area is making my house super dusty!

Ohya, for those who does not know which church I'm going to. I'm actually attending cell and service at World Harvest Church.

What happened today was I was...

TOUCHED BY GOD!

Attended church service at 10am this morning and it was "cekap"! Anyway, Ps Jason took us to this place called Steven's Corner for lunch together with a few other church members. This mamak is the largest mamak I've ever seen!

Adrian and I ordered Nasi Goreng Pataya and they have their signature on it.

And yea, we actually cooked our own dinner at night and NO, we did not cook maggi or anything "simple" =P

Hey peeps, I'm already in KL. Wow, the journey here was super boring. Anyway, wasn't really free when I got back here. Went out to buy some stuffs, had lunch and stuffs. Btw, it is possible to spend only RM10.00 on food per day IN KL! If you really use your cash wisely la. Went to UTAR too thou, went and check on our classes. It is possible to apply to be in the same class with your friends thou but I did not know that the process of getting you into that particular class is kinda complicated.

You actually need a letter with A VALID REASON and my friends actually told the clerk that we're in the same house, we're having transportation problems and stuffs and that particular person said it's not a reason. Wow, arrogant betul la that clerk and she's a FEMALE! You know what she told us? "You all are Uni students edi, now you all applying for the same class. What if next time you all come out to work in different companies? Would you wanna apply for the same company? When you all wanna learn how to be independent?" Walao, I really felt like arguing back. Kau kau, tarak puas hati! And you know, while she was saying all those, she wasn't really looking at us you know? She was refilling ink if I'm not mistaken. UTAR KL people kinda different la but thank God, the girl in the Finance Department was friendly la. At least we know there's still someone that you could count on there. All thanks to her, we got to know that me, Seng Hoe and Kok Hui will be in the same class for now. What we gotta do now is to get Daniel back on to this side. And yea, seriously the UTAR here is very different compared to Kampar but it was better than I expected la. LOL!

Went to apply for p1 after that, Aaron couldn't live without Internet right? So we actually ended up getting two 1.2mbps modems although that guy from the p1 booth recommended us to use one 2.4mbps modem the previous time we went there. Housemates decision right? So far so good, I actually did some research before this on p1 and what I got was the line isn't really satisfying la but the line here is good man. Oops, I mean excellent! Although the line was disconnected once last night. So yea, was kinda upset also last night. Well, let's not talk about it for now. So I guess that's it for Day 1 in KL. Tcare and God Bless!

Hosanna at Breeze Ipoh!

Went for cell last Saturday and it seemed like it's gonna be the last cell meeting already. Everyone will be leaving to KL very soon. Sheesh, I still don't feel like leaving Ipoh! Can I please stay in Kampar? I just don't feel like leaving some people here. Well, let's just hope that the course will be back here in Kampar after a year or so which seems to be IMPOSSIBLE!

So, cell was about "My life without a purpose...". Go ahead, think about it! What is your purpose? and what would happen if your life do not have a purpose? Well, a simple question which actually made me think quite a lot that day. Owh yea, I was checking through my mail and I received an e-mail from Adrian and it was called "letter from Satan" or something. That made me think a lot too, I've forwarded to a few people. Check whether you've received one from me.

Somehow I'm gonna miss CGBC Youth =( To be honest, ever since I became a Christian, I never actually attended church. Well, I do go for church services but not that often. I used to go to Wesley Methodist with my parents ever since we accepted Christ. Somehow, I was not really active that time, as in I don't attend youth services and all. Then I started to skip morning services because I really don't feel like going. Till we were told about Hosanna, which is our cell's name, some people would really understand how hard was it to get me to go to church. I think Ee Chiet would know how tough was it, I guess I was too stubborn back then till she got angry and upset at me a few times. LOL! But soon, it wasn't that hard anymore right? Love Hosanna! Then it was Sunday, which was yesterday. We actually planned to have a gathering which turned out to be some sort of farewell dinner. We went to this place called Breeze Ipoh. Wow, super cekap place man! I mean it's a very nice place. Adrian was like saying "We're at such a high-class place and we're gonna sit on the floor". Played with Uno Stacko and Zach asked me to book 8 badmintons courts for tomorrow! LOL! Nah, he actually meant 2 courts for 8 people. Courts booked for 1pm tomorrow, people! I actually enjoyed yesterday's dinner, we got to spend some quality time together and stuffs. Thanks Ee Chiet for the meal! =D

What happened in Kay-Elle?

Back for another update. Just came back from a farewell dinner for my cell in this place called Breeze Cafe. Well, it's a very neat place and I'll blog about it soon. For this update, I will actually share about what happened in KL for the past few days.

I went down to KL again! This time with my mom and Daniel. Remember I mentioned that I bought this DIY table for RM119.00 in Jusco? One of the purpose of going all the way down to this hectic and complicated city called KL, is to fix this table. We took the 9.00am train from Ipoh and we met some earthlings at the railway station. Some people that I do not feel like meeting and what a coincidence, they are going to KL too! What more their seat were just next to ours! Reached KL Sentral at around 12pm and went to KFC for lunch.

Went back to PV6 after that, first thing is to fix my table. Well, it was kinda easy with the instructions and all. My cousin was on the way back to KL on that very same day and he promised us that he'll take us to a furniture shop to get our mattresses. We went to this HUGE furniture shop, Daniel and I was saying "This furniture shop is HUGE! And there's gonna be a HUGE hole in our wallets later". Bought two mattresses for RM169.00 each and got them to send to our place. Thanks couz!

Went back home and there were nothing else to do anymore. Daniel and I decided to clean the whole house! Super hard work but it was fun la, we were like those small kids playing with water. Ever experienced a waterfall inside the house? Haha. We actually wanted to clean the house because it was super dusty! But you know what? Even after we cleaned the place, it became dusty again after a few hours. Stupid construction area.

And if you noticed, the floor was still wet. OMG, it took forever to dry! sheesh.

One more thing, the haze in KL! *speechless* See it for yourself.

Went out for dinner at McD, went back and started having "guys talk" till we sleep. We slept at the living room thou and it rained at around 3am. It was SUPER COLD! My blanket was blown away just like that! Thunderstorms and lightnings made me took out my phone and started snapping. And something went wrong with the wiring system upstairs, called the agent and complained about that.

Woke up the next morning and my cousin fetched us to TM Point to get some information. Surprisingly, we couldn't apply for Streamyx because there are no more telephone ports in PV6 it seems. So, there's no other choice but to use P1 W1MAX which is a new wireless technology.

I actually did some research when I came back to Ipoh and P1 is indeed cheaper than Streamyx even if we register for 2.4mbps. Went to the P1 booth in Carrefour and got ourselves the registration form. That guy who was in charge there actually explained quite a lot of stuffs and he said that we can go online an hour after registration and all we need is to buy a modem for RM99! Cool! We still need to buy a wireless router of course. Went and got Daniel another DIY table for just RM75.00!!! Regret kau kau man. Went back home and started fixing again. His table was much more complicated than mine thou.
